Support the launch of the brand new Singapore Nordic Film Festival (SNFF) in Oslo!
SNFF showcases unique, award-winning films from Singapore, builds cultural bridges between Norway and Southeast Asia, and celebrates Singapore’s 60th year of independence with the local community. The 2025 edition will feature films from and about Singapore – spotlighting diverse voices and stories, with future editions potentially expanding to include Nordic–Asia co-productions.

SINGAPORE MAKAN NIGHT (Networking Buffet)

SATURDAY 13 Sep, 5.30pm, Sentralen

Donate to our Spleis and you can choose to register for our networking buffet with 10 dishes of South-east Asian cuisine (register at snff.no)! Here are the suggested donation amounts to cover the cost of catering.

kr. 260 (adults), kr. 220 (students age 12+), kr. 60 (kids under 12+), kr. 600 (Family 2 adults, and up to 2 children)

MENU (V - vegan):

1. Nasi kuning (rice with gurkemeie and herbs) (V)

2. Mee Goreng (V) - Indonesian-Singaporean stir-fried noodles

3. Satay ayam + peanut sauce - grilled chicken satay on sticks

4. Satay tempeh + sambal kecap (V) - grilled soya tempeh with sambal sauce

5. Gado-gado (V) - Tofu & tempeh salad, topped with peanut sauce.

6. Otak-otak - spiced fish paste, wrapped in banana leaves and grilled or steamed.

7. Sambal udang (scampi) - spicy prawns (udang) cooked in a sambal chili paste

8. Kueh dadar x 40 - rolled pandan-flavoured crêpe filled with sweet grated coconut cooked in gula melaka (palm sugar).

9. Kueh lapis x 40 (V) - Steamed Rice Flour Layer Cake (gluten free)

10. Achar (V) - crunchy pickled vegetable relish in a turmeric vinegar sauce

Condiments:

11. Sambal chilli (homemade) (V) - chilli paste, with garlic, shallots, lime juice

12. Keropok (V) - crispy deep fried veggie crackers

* A panel on co-productions between Asia and the Nordics

Why this matters:

We want to uplift stories that often go unheard – and use film to build meaningful cultural bridges between Southeast Asia and the Nordics.

The Singapore Nordic Film Festival showcases films and filmmakers from Singapore, highlighting the diversity and creativity of Singaporean cinema. Tthe festival will also create a space for dialogue and exchange between Nordic and Asian producers, encouraging cross-cultural collaboration and new industry connections.

We are grateful for the support from Oslo kommune, and are proud to be collaborating with Sentralen MINT & Cinemateket as our main venues. Støtt lanseringen av det splitter nye Singapore Nordic Film Festival (SNFF) i Oslo!
SNFF viser unike, prisvinnende filmer fra Singapore, bygger kulturelle broer mellom Norge og Sørøst-Asia, og feirer Singapores 60-årsjubileum for selvstendighet sammen med lokalsamfunnet. 2025-utgaven vil vise filmer fra og om Singapore – med fokus på mangfoldige stemmer og historier, og fremtidige utgaver kan utvides til å inkludere nordiske og asiatiske co-produksjoner.
