Help Kalmar Union to World Cup!
We are the Kalmar Union
With the national team Kalmar Union, the five Nordic countries stand together: We strengthen Nordic open-gender roller derby and inspire future generations by competing under the same banner at the 2026 World Cup. We need your help to get there!
We are a new and geographically widespread team within a small sport running on love, sweat, adrenaline and volunteers. With support from the Danish and Swedish skating associations and help from multiple Nordic roller derby leagues we've been able to pay the World Cup registration fee and organise training weekends once a month. However, we don't currently have the funds to reimburse any travel expenses or pay for team uniforms, and this ambitious project is thus taking its toll on our athletes' personal economies. You can follow our bumpy ride through our newsletter (the archive is here).
We sincerely believe roller derby should be for everyone: any gender, any age, any background. With this fundraiser we want to support our players, coaches and management team, so the financial situation does not prevent participation at our two upcoming training weekends, our own tournament in March (tickets here) and the World Cup itself.
We ask you to chip in if you can. In return, we have gathered some exclusive rewards: hand-made items, merch from vanished leagues, the possibility to get your very own customised Kalmar Union uniform and other surprises! Several of our fun stuff include the Thingy, the mascot in our logo (flying in the timeline above).
We piggyback on Oslo Roller Derby; support ('Støtt') this fundraiser, and the funds raised will be forwarded to the Kalmar Union roller derby team.
