Gi barna et smilđ

English belowÂ

There are approximately 3,000 children living under inhumane conditions in the refugee camps on Lesvos, making a contribution so that they can get a Light in the darknes.
The refugee crisis in Greece has been forgotten, even though it still ongoin. Media has long ago stopped  writing about it, but the boats are still arriving. Greece currently houses about 67,000 refugees, of which approximately 18,000 live on the Greek islands.
In this crisis, like all other crises around the world, the children are the ones who suffer most. They have no fault, no co-determination, and little or no understanding of what they are exposed to. They must live with the consequences of choices taken by adults. What they are exposed to will mark them for the rest of their lives, wounds that will never heal.
We know for sure that giving a teddy bear or a doll wonât solve anything. They still will live under miserable conditions, uncertain what the future will brin. But maybe, only maybe, they may forget, if only for a little while, the world is a cold and inhospitable place, where children's rights do not matter anything.
Seeing a child's gloomy expression change into a smile, a glimpse of joy, is so strong that it can change you forever. They live in the present, it's the little things that matter.
Give a smile, give hope, to the many little ones who need it most :balloon:
