  2. Still Baking – An Update from Frogner Kitchen

    Hi everyone! 

    It’s been a while since my last update (7th July 2024!), so I wanted to let you know: I haven’t given up on this project. Far from it. A lot has changed in 2025 – from moving homes to shifting business demands – and it’s slowed things down more than I hoped. 

    But I’m still fully committed and working on this book!

  3. Work Has Begun and Funds Released: Exciting Updates from Frogner Kitchen

    I have some thrilling updates to share with you:

    • Fundraising Phase Closed: Our “Kickstarter” fundraising phase has successfully closed. The funds have been transferred to my bank account and will support the hours dedicated to researching and writing my recipe book. Matthew and I are committed to weekly progress meetings to ensure we stay on track.
    • Test Recipe Coming Soon: We will share a test recipe with you in mid-August. Your feedback will be invaluable as it will be part of the book!
    • Featured in Aftenposten A-Magasinet: I’m honored to share that Frogner Kitchen was recently featured on the cover of Aftenposten’s A-Magasinet, Norway’s leading newspaper. You can read the article here.

    Firstly, Happy New Year to you all! We hope this message finds you well and filled with hope for the year ahead. We know it's been a while since our last update, and we sincerely apologize for the delay. It's been quite a journey, and we'd like to share some important updates with you:

    The beginning of this year has proven to be quite challenging for us. We've recently moved to a new place, and cleaning out our old home has been a task that's occupied much of our weekends. Balancing work, family, and the demands of moving has been no small feat.

    2. The Power of Partnership

    In times like these, I truly appreciate the value of a strong partnership. Matthew has been an incredible pillar of support, stepping in to ensure that our project stays on track. He's even created a Trello board to help us stay organized and focused.

    3. Resuming Regular Meetings

    Starting in February, I'll be resuming my regular meetings with Matthew. We're eager to dive back into the project and make significant progress. Your patience and understanding during this transitional period are greatly appreciated.

    In just 20 days from the day we launched our crowdfunding campaign, we are thrilled to announce that we have exceeded 20,000 NOK in funds raised! This remarkable achievement is a testament to your support and belief in our project. We couldn't have done it without you, and we're incredibly grateful for your trust and commitment.

    2. Securing Writing Grants in the New Year

    Looking ahead, we have exciting plans for the upcoming year. In 2024, our momentum will only grow stronger, especially as we enter the new year. Matthew will be actively seeking writing grants to help offset project costs. This agreement outlines our shared goals, responsibilities, and how we plan to handle funding, expenses, and profits. We want you to know that we are fully dedicated to making this project a reality, and this agreement represents our joint commitment to see it through.

    Clear and Transparent Communication

    One of our top priorities is to maintain clear and transparent communication throughout this campaign. We believe in keeping you, our valued backers, informed every step of the way. We'll be providing regular updates, sharing behind-the-scenes insights, and addressing any questions or concerns you may have. Your support means a lot to us, and we want you to feel like an integral part of this journey.

    A Quick Recap of Our Project

    Just to refresh your memory, our project aims to create a book that tells May's remarkable story – her journey from moving to Norway in 2018 to building a thriving baking business during challenging times.     Yesterday, my team and I presented a demo of our book. This demo is organized by charge.no - an incubation program dedicated to supporting startups with founders who identify as international professionals and women.
