Dream grant for Soria Gathering Live Art
Soria Gathering Live Art Performance
"To capture the essence of our co-creating."
My dream is to create a live art piece at Soria Gathering, which takes place at Værøy from 20.06-24.06 this year, under the beautiful midnight sun.
But in order to manifest this dream into reality I need a "Dream Grant."
The idea is to capture / convey, the ethereal, morphing, changing light and landscape at Værøy, Interpreting / transcending the energy, internal and external experience in symbiosis with the surroundings and inspired by the people co-creating this experience together.
What is so special about live art painting in these kinds of settings is the immediacy.
I´ll have a vision of what I want to create but the painting is created in the interaction between the music, people and unique location which in turn inspires, and informs my brush strokes, it is an organic collaboration which translates into visual art.
The process of creating the painting and viewing it at different stages are of course an important part of the live art experience.
In my live art performances I try to capture the fleeting, ethereal beauty that is created in the moment, which cannot be conveyed through photography or be described in words.
I think it will be absolutely mesmerizing to do this in a place like Værøy.

About me
I started creating art at D&B events in 2012 (Planet Angel London), bringing a little black sketchpad capturing moments and characters, which progressed to live art painting also at Planet Angel and Wonderland between 2013-2016.
I started creating live art again on Oslo techno scene in 2020 and then at Monument festival in 2021. I have also been a resident artist at Under The Rug ongoing since 2021.
Community, connection, unity and belonging are all very important values to me as an artist and human in the world, and especially after having gone through the collective trauma of being isolated and separated from each other during covid perhaps that is why I´ve been so drawn to creating in settings where people come together to dance and connect.
The works are a reverence and celebration of the beauty, vibrance and energy co-created in these sacred, precious, temporary pockets of freedom.
Exploring the external/internal landscape, the spiritual and physical planes and drawing a bridge between rave culture, the contemporary shaman and ancient ritual.
