Kavalamanja village, Zambia in URGENT need of water pump
Last year we did a Spleis on buying a water pump for the village community garden and their clinic that was delivered and installed in May 2023. Kavlamanja village is a community in Zambia without running water and we raised money for the pump to improve quality of life, education and sustainability. The pump supplies water from the Zambezi river to the village water tanks. This water is supplied mostly to the community gardens and the health care clinic. The community gardens are the only way for most villagers to be self-sufficient by growing vegetables to eat and to sell. The village health care clinic also relies on this water supply for women in labor and other regular water needs.
The pump broke down and is in need of replacement, this includes filters, connections etcetera. All money received will be handled by Melinda Ødegård, who will in cooperation with local community representatives manage the replacement, installation and running of the pump system. Everything bought with the money will be documented and will be shared with all the sponsors.
