Kjære venner og medmennesker,

Jeg skriver dette som stemor til to flotte barn som nylig har  mistet sin mor på en tragisk måte. Moren bodde alene i Finland, uten nær  familie der og uten fast jobb. Hun ble funnet livløs i leiligheten sin  av en nabo, og barna hennes bor her hos oss i Norge.

Nå sitter barna hennes igjen her i Norge, og prøver å forstå at mamma aldri kommer tilbake. Barna går på skolen og har ingen økonomisk mulighet til å  dekke de store kostnadene som følger med å få moren hjem til Norge og  gi henne en verdig begravelse. 

Som stemor står jeg nær barna, og jeg ser hvor dypt dette tapet har  preget dem. Hele situasjonen er tung, og det føles ekstra urettferdig at de i  tillegg skal bekymre seg for hvordan vi skal få mamma hjem. Vi ønsker så  sterkt å gi dem muligheten til å ta et siste farvel, å samle familie og  venner rundt seg, og få en verdig avslutning på et altfor kort liv.

Kostnadene til transport fra Finland, nødvendige papirer  og selve begravelsen her i Norge er dessverre langt mer enn vi klarer å håndtere  alene. Derfor håper vi på støtte fra dere som har mulighet til å hjelpe,  slik at barna kan få den avslutningen de fortjener.

Alle bidrag, små som store, vil bety enormt mye – ikke  bare økonomisk, men også som en påminnelse om at vi har et fellesskap  rundt oss som bryr seg.

Dear friends and kind-hearted people,

I am writing this as the stepmother of two wonderful  children who have recently lost their mother in a tragic way. The mother  lived alone in Finland, without close family there and without a steady  job. She was found lifeless in her apartment by a neighbor.

The children are living with us here in Norway. Now her children are trying to  understand that their mother will never come back. The children are still going in school and have no financial means to cover the large costs involved in  bringing their mother home to Norway and giving her a dignified funeral.

As their stepmother, I  see how deeply this loss has affected them. The whole situation is  heavy, and it feels devastating that, in addition, they have to  worry about how we will get their mother home. We really want to  give them the opportunity to say a final goodbye, to gather family and  friends around them, and to give a dignified farewell to a life cut far  too short.

The costs of transport from Finland, the necessary  paperwork, and the funeral here in Norway are unfortunately far more  than we can handle alone. Therefore, we hope for support from those who  are able to help, so the children can have the closure they deserve.

All contributions, big or small, will mean an enormous  amount – not only financially, but also as a reminder that we have a  community around us that cares.
