Microscope and equipment to help a wildlife rehabilitator in Croatia!
This summer in Croatia, I met an inspiring 16-year-old with a huge heart for animals.
Despite his young age, he’s already spent several years caring for everything from homeless kittens and injured hedgehogs to all kinds of birds — all on his own, at his family’s home. He dreams of becoming a vet and eventually opening his own rehabilitation center. However: he covers all the costs himself, including vet bills, without much external support.
I’m lucky to mentor him alongside a few others, and my biggest wish is to share some of the knowledge and tools that have helped me help birds over the years. For example, a microscope I bought on Black Friday three years ago turned out to be one of my best investments — it’s helped me quickly diagnose common bird illnesses with guidance from two amazing avian vets.
Now, I want to pass this skill and equipment on to him.
In three weeks, I’m heading back to Croatia and hope to surprise him with a microscope. But I need your help to make this possible.
Will you join me in supporting this young animal hero’s dream?
The microscope I want to get is the same one I have. The Swift SW380T which costs approximately NOK 4200. In addition I need to buy slides, pipettes, tubes and other equipment for taking and processing samples.
