Urgent need for money to complete the new temple building before august 2020.

Oslo Murugan temple has to vacate the current premises at Ammerud, Oslo before August 2020. We have to move the temple to the new temple building, which is under construction at Rommen, Oslo. 

Don't let Murugan "homeless" 

Oslo Sivasubramniyar (Murugan) temple is the first Hindu temple established in Oslo 21 years ago. Unfortunately, we must vacate the current premises by August 2020. In early 2000, the concept of building a permanent temple for the Hindus of Norway became of interest. By 2017, construction begun in Oslo and the Temple was to be built according to the South Indian temple architecture. The authenticity of the temple was of importance and this required the help of Indian temple architect Padmasiri Muthiah Sthpathy and Norwegian architect Frithjof Wise to construct the temple on land acquired from Oslo municipality. Currently, we have completed an empty two-story building.

The project cost is approximately NOK 60 million. The building project was planned in four different phases. The first two phases have been completed in accordance with the initial plan and financed with the funds raised amongst the Hindu community in Norway. The Hindu community in Oslo is quite small (around 1000 families) and we need help from the Hindus outside Norway and well-wishers to continue the project.

The third phase of construction work is at a halt due to insufficient funds. The project requires an additional 3 million kroner (approx. US$ 350 000) for the completion of the third stage. Once we can secure this amount, the bank will provide a loan of 20 million to drive the fourth phase and completion of the temple project. 

We kindly request Hindus from across the world to realize the significance of this Hindu temple on the north hemisphere and to contribute to the completion of the new temple.
