PROSJEKT BESKRIVELSE

OM LITT er arbeidstittelen på avgangsfilmen til regissør Sylvia Le Fanu, produsent Caroline Hitland, manusforfatter Mads Lind Knudsen, fotograf Jan Bastian Munoz Marthinsen, produksjonsdesigner Lars-Martin Vågseter, klipper Mads Jøns Frausig og lyddesigner Linn Therese Kollerød på Den Norske Filmskolen.

Filmen er basert på Sylvias personlige historie hvor hun måtte si farvel til sin mor i slutten av tenårene og filmen er en dramatisering av familiens siste reise sammen innen moren gikk bort. Filmen skal derfor spilles inn på Malta, men kostnadene med å rykke produksjonen til utlandet er store og vi er derfor avhengig av økonomisk hjelp utenfra dersom filmen skal la seg gjøre. 

Vi håper at våre kjære venner og familie vil hjelpe oss. Uansett størrelse på bidraget dere kan gi vil det hjelpe oss STORT på veien!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

WE ONLY JUST MET is the English working title of a final project at The Norwegian Film School, directed by Sylvia Le Fanu, produced by Caroline Hitland, written by Mads Lind Knudsen, edited by Mads Jøns Frausig, photographed by Jan Bastian Munoz Marthinsen, production designed by Lars-Martin Vågseter and sound by Linn Therese Kollerød at The Norwegian Film School. 

The film is inspired by Sylvia's own story of losing her mother in her late teens and is a dramatisation of their last holiday together in Venice. 

This is why we are moving the whole production abroad, costing us a large amount of the budget. Therefore we are depending on financial help from dear friends and family to make the film.

SYNOPSIS 

Filmen handler om 17årige Fanny, der befinner seg på ferie sammen med sine foreldre. Men det er ikke så hyggelig, for Fannys mor holder på å dø av kreft. Tross drømmen om å få oppleve det idylliske feriestedet en siste gang, er familien bundet til hotellrommet, da morens tilstand forverres. Fanny befinner seg i en situasjon hvor hun konfronteres med sin frygt for døden og det å si farvel til sin mor, og det hun aller helst vil er å stikke av fra situasjonen og følge sin voksende sult på livet utenfor. 

I denne coming-of-age historien settes kontrastene mellom liv og død opp, i skjæringspunktet mellom Fannys vitalitet i begynnelsen av voksenlivet overfor hennes mors forestående død. Det er en film om å sørge før man har mistet og om alle de “forbudte” følelser forbundet med dette.

Filmen vil være ca. 25 min.

The film is about 17 year-old Fanny whose mother is dying of cancer and who wants to go on one last family holiday so they can be together in a beautiful place. However, as the mother’s condition worsens, they become bound to the hotel room and Fanny is forced to face her fear of death and saying goodbye to her mother, when all she wants is to escape the whole situation and follow her craving for the world outside.

In this coming-of-age story, the contrasts between life and death are set at the intersection between Fanny's vitality at the beginning of adulthood and her mother's imminent death. It is a story about grieving before we have lost and all the “forbidden” feelings we feel in doing so.

The film will be about 25 min.
