Help an animal shelter in Ukraine in times of war
In times of war, both people and animals suffer. It is up to oneself, whether to help and to whom. This is a chance to help one animal shelter in one Ukrainian town, Kropyvnytskyi/Kirovograd. It is a town where I was born and grew up in, before moving to Norway. I came into contact with them four years ago, and have been supporting them since. It is a shelter for both dogs and cats, but primarily dogs. Almost 200 dogs live on premises, and around 20 cats.

The shelter does not have any official financial support and exists purely off donations and good will of volunteers. I had a fundraiser going on three years ago for them
The shelter has nearly doubled it's size since then, and the money raised was put to good use. I do trust these people. Here is a link to their Facebook page . It is mostly in Ukrainian and Russian, but you can see the pictures :-)
The current situation in this particular town as of 25 February is such: there are no strategic objects to bomb, so there are no bombings and no military action, but the population is scared. People try to stock up on necessities. There is an influx of refugees from the attacked areas. Many people try to flee to Poland and Romania. Unfortunately, some people leave their animals behind, so, in addition to current problems there will be surge in homeless animals. I spoke with the lady in charge of the shelter, and they are determined to stay with the animals until the end. Hopefully, a good end.
