Help father, Cruz, support his 3 children after motorcycle accident
Cruz has been a good friend for over 15 years, and he was recently in a motorcycle accident in Costa Rica where he works, and broke both his left arm and his right leg. He is from Nicaragua and works in Costa Rica to support his family back home, and every month he sends his 3 children 150 dollars out of the 500 dollars he makes working 11-12 hour days, 5-6 days a week at almost minimum wage doing construction work.

Now he is in the hospital in Puntarenas after the motorcycle accident, and they have to operate both his right leg and his left arm at some point it seems. Still he has gotten a cast on both his left arm and his right leg that are broken.

Luckily the government in Costa Rica will pay for his medical expenses it seems, at least his operations, and friends of him there have pledged to help him out with money for food and housing while he recovers for 2-3 months. He does not have private insurance and does not work for a company that has insurance as he is a contractor through a friend at the moment doing welding.

My goal with this fundraiser is to help my friend, Cruz, with the money he normally sends his kids every month, as he now will have 2-3 months at least away from work to recover before he can start working again and receive his normal salary.

I got to know Cruz in 2008 as we both worked in Hotel De Haan, Jaco, Costa Rica, and I started talking Spanish with him and started learning Spanish from these conversations. He invited me to visit his family over Christmas and New Year's that year, and we went together to Rincones, Esteli, Nicaragua for the holidays where his family lives.

Over 3 weeks of spending time there I got to learn lots of Spanish, go on many cool adventures, and get to know his family. I became food poisoned by accident when I was there, just before Christmas, when we made soop on some crabs we caught in a river, one day on an excursion, and I got very sick and had to keep the bed for 2-3 days after that. His family treated me so warmly and took good care of me, giving me honey and remedies to get better, and on the 3rd day just around Christmas time the neighbor drove me to the local UNICEF hospital where I got some medicines, and got well again some days later.

Cruz has been a very good friend ever since and we have kept in touch, and Ive met him on later trips to Costa Rica again after 2008.
So I want to do my best to help him now, and as I don't have the best financial situation myself, there is only so much I can afford. I have donated NOK 500 to this case.
Thank you very much if you decide to help Cruz support his 3 children for the next 3 months while he recovers and gets back to work again.
Muchas gracias.
